Imports of food of non-animal origin subject to increased pesticide residue controls

All importers of food of non-animal origin subject to increased pesticide residue controls (Regulation (EC) No 1793/2019, as amended) must register with DAFM.

A list of commodities subject to increased pesticide residue controls can be found at Information Note Fruit and Veg importers Re: Import Controls – July 2022 (pdf 340Kb)

Post Brexit, commodities listed above, which are arriving in the UK and subsequently being imported into Ireland will be subject to increased pesticide residue controls. Importers must complete a Common Health Entry Document (CHED-D) Part I for each consignment and submit Part I of the CHED-D along with copies of Single Administrative Document (SAD), Airway Bill/Bill of Lading, Invoice, Phytosanitary certificate and EU movement certificate to the DAFM Imports Portal.

Each consignment will be subject to a document check and examination (sampling) will be carried out on some consignments.
