Application to notify a biocidal product

Applications for product notification must be submitted electronically to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine via the email: biocide-notifications@agriculture.gov.ie.

Applicants must submit:

• Biocidal Product Notification Application Form_Updated Nov 2023 (doc 137Kb) 

• Safety Data Sheets (SDS):

• For the biocidal product(s);

• For the active substance(s) contained in the product; and

• For any co-formulants that contribute to the classification of the substance.

• Documentation for Article 95 Compliance (e.g. Letter of Supply, Letter of Access)

• Draft Irish label (including classification and labelling)
• CCS Customer Registration Form (doc 140Kb)     (for new applicants)
• Proof of notification to the National Poisons Information Centre for products which classify with respect to physical and health hazards and for use by consumers and professionals. Guidance on National Poisons Information Centre Requirements (pdf 625Kb)  

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Notification holders of biocidal products notified on the Irish market for sale and use are reminded that following EU approval of the active substance(s)/product-type combination, the notified biocidal product(s) containing the active substance in the given product-type must then be authorised in accordance with the Biocidal Products Regulation(BPR).
